Seven Samurai 20XX has seven main characters. These are the warriors who travel through the story and fight with the enemies and bosses. The Seven Samurai are Natoe, Jodie, Kambei, Tatsuma, Rojie, Eight and Cue.
Natoe is a young warrior with a kind heart. He is hesitant to kill, but also wants to protect the weak from those who would take advantage of them. Natoe is the last hunter to wield his sword, the long-lost Nihonto sword. Although he started training in swordsmanship at a young age, he did not complete his training. Instead, he chose to travel freely, as he sees no need for authority.
Jodie is the daughter of Natoe’s master. The two grew up together. Jodie does not think Natoe did the right thing by abandoning his master, her father. Therefore, she follows him around to try to convince him to return home and complete his training. Kambei is a wise, much older warrior who is at ease with his skill. He uses his experience to give guidance to the others. Like Natoe, Kambei does not believe in killing, but he does what he has to.
Tatsuma is quite the prankster. In fact, he can be quite verbally abusive at times. He never lets anyone get too close to him. Tatsuma is torn between the decision to avenge his sister’s death, or fight the humanoids with Natoe. Rojie is a samurai, but he tries to hide his old life. He thinks if Sallah finds out, she will not love him. He is fighting to protect her. Eight was once an agent and as such is responsible for the abduction of the holy child. He is devoted to the mission, however, and loves to drink. Cue is considered the goddess of death. She has no recognition of the past.
